About Us: Exploring Our Passion and Values For A Virtual Horse Show Experience

We would like to introduce ourselves and share the inspiration behind the creation of Wild Rose Virtual Horse Show.

Wild Rose Virtual Horse Show was born out of a desire to address a specific gap in the Canadian equestrian community by offering virtual horse shows that are accessible and inclusive. Our aim was to bring about the changes we envisioned in the virtual show landscape.

While virtual shows had become increasingly popular in other countries, and only a few options in Canada. Canadian riders were limited in their options due to geographic restrictions, entry limitations, issues with the shipping of awards, and more. Recognizing that many riders, especially in more remote regions, were missing out on these opportunities, we decided to create an experience that could serve all Canadian equestrians—regardless of location or logistical constraints. Our goal was clear: to create a different type of virtual show environment that celebrates both competition and camaraderie, while being specifically tailored to meet the needs of Canadian riders.

We envisioned a monthly show format that would offer flexibility to accommodate the busy schedules of riders across the country. This format would allow competitors to participate at their convenience while still experiencing the thrill of competition from home. Central to our vision was the creation of a supportive community, where riders could learn from each other, share their experiences, and grow together. We wanted to provide more than just a competition platform—we wanted to foster an environment of encouragement and shared passion for the sport. With that in mind, we designed Wild Rose Virtual Horse Show to be a space where riders could connect, celebrate successes, and support one another through constructive feedback and positive interactions.

One of the core values that shaped Wild Rose Virtual Horse Show is our commitment to continuous learning. We believe that the journey to improving one’s riding skills is ongoing, and virtual shows offer a unique opportunity for riders to get feedback from Equine Canada coaches and certified judges. This feedback allows riders to improve their performances, fine-tune their skills, and better prepare for live, in-person competitions. We understand how important it is to receive constructive criticism and support in a way that helps you grow, which is why we emphasize a feedback-driven experience. Whether you’re aiming for perfection or simply striving to stay active and engaged with your horse during the off-season, our virtual shows can offer a tailored and accessible way to continue your equestrian journey.

Another element we wanted to incorporate into the Wild Rose experience is privacy and flexibility. Understanding that not every rider feels comfortable sharing their competition video with a public audience, we provide the option to submit privately. This is particularly helpful for younger riders, those who prefer a bit more privacy, or individuals who simply want to focus on improving without the pressure of public viewing. In this way, we maintain a balance between community interaction and personal preference, ensuring that all riders feel welcome and supported, regardless of their level of experience or comfort with public competition.

Cost-effectiveness is also a key driver behind the creation of Wild Rose Virtual Horse Show. We understand that competing in traditional, live horse shows can be expensive, especially when factoring in travel costs, entry fees, stabling, and other expenses. Virtual shows provide an affordable alternative, enabling riders to stay involved in competition without the financial burden. This is particularly important for those who may not have the resources to travel to larger competitions or those looking for an off-season opportunity to stay engaged with the sport.

We are also proud to offer a diverse range of classes, encompassing both Western and English disciplines. By doing so, we ensure that our virtual show is inclusive and reflective of the diverse backgrounds and interests of Canadian riders. From dressage and hunter/jumper to ranch riding and barrel racing, we aim to offer something for everyone, no matter their discipline or area of interest. This inclusive approach extends beyond the disciplines themselves—our goal is to create a space where all riders, regardless of experience level or geographic location, feel welcome to participate and grow.

At Wild Rose Virtual Horse Show, we are continuously striving to improve and evolve our platform. We are committed to providing a user-friendly and positive virtual show experience for Canadian riders, and we are always exploring new ways to enhance our services, expand our class offerings, and create more opportunities for our community. As we look to the future, we are excited to continue building on our mission of inclusivity, education, and accessibility, while expanding the reach of virtual showing across Canada and beyond.
